Terms & Conditions

The rules for using Valerie as a buyer, seller, or visitor.

Last updated: 21 June 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing valerie.ng, creating an account, listing products, or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Valerie ("we", "us", "our") operates a marketplace connecting Nigerian sellers with buyers. We provide storefront tools, payment facilitation via Wavy, and discovery features — we are not the seller of record for third-party listings unless explicitly stated.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have legal guardian consent to transact.
  • Sellers must provide accurate business and settlement information for payouts.
  • You may not use Valerie for unlawful goods, fraud, counterfeit items, or prohibited categories.

3. Seller obligations

  • Listings must be accurate — title, price, condition, photos, and availability.
  • You are responsible for fulfilment, shipping timelines, and customer communication.
  • Settlement accounts must belong to you or your registered business.
  • Boost, featured, and sponsored placements must comply with our advertising standards.

4. Buyer obligations

  • Provide correct delivery and contact details at checkout.
  • Complete payment through approved methods (Wavy or verified bank transfer where offered).
  • Report disputes promptly via order records and support channels.

5. Payments & fees

Payments are processed through Wavy and partner banks. Valerie may charge platform, boost, or subscription fees disclosed at checkout or in your dashboard. Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless stated otherwise.

6. Prohibited conduct

  • Fake payment proofs, chargeback abuse, or account sharing for fraud.
  • Scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with platform security.
  • Harassment, hate speech, or misleading advertising.
  • Circumventing fees by directing buyers off-platform after discovery on Valerie.

7. Intellectual property

Valerie branding, software, and design are owned by us. Sellers retain rights to their product content but grant Valerie a licence to display listings, stories, and promotional materials on the platform.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, pose fraud risk, or receive repeated valid complaints. You may close your account at any time; outstanding orders and payouts must be settled first.

9. Limitation of liability

Valerie is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for indirect losses, seller non-delivery, or third-party payment delays beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability for platform services is limited to fees paid to Valerie in the preceding 12 months.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall first be addressed through Valerie support; unresolved matters may be referred to competent courts in Nigeria.
